There are a number of pleasures in my life, and when time permits, I enjoy them all. First and foremost I must recognize Rotary as playing a key role in my life and direction. I have found it to be the most rewarding endeavor. It is true that you get out of Rotary far more than you put in. The overwhelming feeling of accomplishment and pride with every project you undertake, and to be in the company of those who so unselfishly give toward humanity is awesome. I would encourage anyone looking to give back to the community, or the world, consider looking into Rotary.

Of course there are a number of leisure activities I try to stay involved with...In order of passion this year, they are (not including "home" time, my favorite)..

AGASSIZ SPEEDWAY

Hornet racing at Agassiz Speedway, by far the most adrenaline pumping activity. 15-20 cars on this short 1/4 mile track all doing about 100kph, 4 inches apart. Great family entertainment. Kids love watching this stuff. I think its a whole new treat for the family rather than just a night out at the movies. Cost is about the same too. You also get to see Mini stock, Midgets, Street stocks, and full performance Nascar vehicles in the Sportsman category. And another highlight is the Hit to Pass.... now that's close to insane racing...

This is the car I parted with two or more years ago, and the new owners started to beat my times with it. Just as they were starting good runs with this one, the engine packed it in on the last race of the season. Next year I can see them still doing well with it.

I was very pleased with the Ford probe this past three years. Although heavy, and a bit of a tire beater on the right front, it kept me competitive enough to place seventh of 35 cars at year end in 2010 ans 2nd overall in 2011 and the same in 2012. Considering at least 10 cars have better time ins than me, it performed well during the actual laps of the race. This car has 535,000 km on the original engine, clutch and drive train, and still takes the constant redlining after 16 years. I owned this car from new, as my family car, and converted it to racing three years ago.

I guess a close second just for activity is Motorbiking....I have ridden for about 42 years now. Started on a Honda 50, and ride a Honda V4 Magna at present. I enjoy teaching motorcycle rider lessons, and love the opportunity to ride whether in class, or on my own.

The next few are now activities that I enjoy when I have the time...Flying, Handgun competitions, and Golf.
