      Responsible for ensuring consistency of operations, and proper guidelines are implemented for campus operation. General day to day operations and accountability. Evaluate all staff, programs, operations and the like and report where improvements may be beneficial if required. Coordinate and plan for campus relocation.

Director of Operations/Instructor

       Hired under contract to review and implement changes as required in operations and marketing procedures as well as Instruction where needed.

       Responsible for ensuring consistency of operations, and proper guidelines were established for campus operation. Implemented proper reporting and accountability for administration and Instructors. Evaluate all staff and report where improvements are needed.

       Analyzed, updated and corrected Procedure manuals, Student and Instructor manuals. Conducted Orientation sessions, and dealt with student and staff concerns or issues as they arose. Implemented Marketing strategies and liaisons with the community.

       Developed a task team to implement trades in a new Private College project. Supervised the development of curriculum and apprenticeship programs for submission to ITA.

1995–2005           Vancouver Career College

Director / Instructor

    Instructor of Computer and Business programs for various campuses from 1995 to 2000. Led “Instructor based” classes in IT, Business Management, and Microsoft Suite programs.

    Director of Chilliwack operation 2003, building campus enrollment to over three times its student body in one year. Maintained operations well within budget, and turned campus from significant loss to profit in 8 months.

    Director of Abbotsford operation in 2004-2005, again, taking a troubled campus and doubling the student enrollment. The campus was also turned from a financial loss situation, into a profitable campus in less than 12 months.

    Director responsibilities included Instructor & personnel management, scheduling, forecasting, budgeting, marketing, and overseeing enrollment processes. Acted as liaison to the community, Governing bodies and agencies to encourage enrollments.

    Ensured that the campus was compliant in all matters of internal organization and external regulatory requirements. I was also charged with Campus renovations and layout to the newly acquired campus in Abbotsford.

    Assisted in curriculum development. Worked close with Accounting projects, and investigated implementing various “Trades” as programs for the college to offer, and reported results via feasibility studies.

 
1999 – 2002                      Prosoft Training Institute
Instructor

Under contract to Prosoft, I was responsible for developing, planning as well as implementing the MCSE and A+ courses, Cisco and Advanced TCP/IP courses as well as Business Programs using Guy Kawasaki Methods. Standard duties include Attendance details, performance reviews, program changes and implementation, course and classroom setup.

 

1990 – 1998                      Computer World and Business World
Franchise operator/distributor

Instrumental in setting up Computer World franchise operations in Western Canada. Through a formulated marketing plan, seven franchises were created in 8 months. Operated and controlled a major interest in the Prince George Computer World operation. Organized and implemented the marketing plans and operational structure for Business World in Chilliwack. Also Head of technical departments in these companies for a number of years. Strove to ensure business partners were established and secured, and became an exclusive agent for Xerox and Tecnet.

Norcanair, Shaw Air, and others
Commercial Pilot

Commercial Pilot for water bombing operations with Norcanair, eventually part of the Pacific Western Airlines. Assigned a PBY aircraft tanker for fire drop operations. Contracted to fly charter and light to medium aircraft for commercial purposes. Developed business plans for Shaw Air and dealt with importation of Aircraft, and Government regulatory bodies. Fully endorsed multi engine with float. On a constant basis, was charged with ensuring the safety of crew and passengers.

 

Alberta Provincial Government
Maintenance Service Worker III

I was assigned as M.S.W. III for the department of Indian Affairs for the Alberta Government. I received full Life Skills Coach Trainer Training, and was responsible for implementing programs to encourage employment amongst Native youth. This involved life skills training and technical skills training. Technical training included operating Heavy equipment, working with compressors, welders and teaching all construction techniques in house building, ensuring all codes were met. This program had the highest success rate of employment of any of the Indian and Northern affairs programs running in part due to the training delivered from excellent program development.

Sales and Service, Training Agent

In service, I was trained and competent in repairs to all Electronic Word Processors and base line equipment, copiers and computer systems. In sales, I was assigned the vertical market of Law and Accounting clients, as well as Provincial and Federal Government accounts. The positions were in Saskatoon and Vancouver. My position was a Customer Engineering Technician and Base line product Instructor. I was responsible for repair and instruction of all IBM Base line products from typewriters to Magnetic card readers. Saskatoon and Don Mills.
